Ultrasonic Liposuction

One particular method of liposuction treatment is known as ultrasonic liposuction, or ultrasonic assisted liposuction. It follows the same concept of breaking the fat cells and using a suction to remove the fat from the body. The difference is in how the fat is broken up since traditional methods use mechanical force and can be quite brutal. Ultrasonic liposuction uses a specialized cannula that transmits ultrasound vibrations to cause the walls of the affect fat cells to burst producing freed liquefied fat which is easier to suction out. It is effective in areas with tougher, more fibrous fat cells such as the chest area. This method produces slightly less bleeding than traditional methods and the blood must be drained with a needle to avoid seromas, the pooling of fluid under the skin.

VASER Lipo

The term VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance and this particular branch of ultrasonic liposuction received FDA approval for use as a liposuction method in 2002. Because of the precision of this technology, it can be used to treat delicate parts of the body such as in facial liposuction. Since it also offers a high volume efficacy it can also be used in large procedures such as the chest, back and abdomen. VASER liposuction is an improvement upon the original ultrasonic assisted liposuction methods that originally caused much more stress to the surrounding tissue of the area being treated.

Advantages

Many of the advantages that this latest development of ultrasonic liposuction method offers over traditional liposuction is the reduction of side effects and risks generally accepted as part of liposuction surgery. These include but not limited to anesthesia related risks, smaller size of incisions, reduced risk of skin damage, minimal tissue damage, reduced blood loss and greater effectiveness at breaking fibrous fat cells. It also greatly improves upon older ultrasonic liposuction technologies by further reducing the level of unintended tissue damage and greater ability to differentiate between fat cells and other surrounding tissue.

Traditional liposuction methods have long been known to cause a lot of trauma to the tissues surrounding the area being treated. Laser assisted liposuction has greatly reduced the amount of damage to nearby tissue because it is a much more precise method of destroying fat cells. There are risks, however, of burning the tissue underneath skin when the heat generated by the laser is left in one area for too long. Although this risk is rare, ultrasonic liposuction eliminates this particular risk completely. In fact, there have been no serious complications related to VASER technology in a report covering over 70,000 procedures making this technique a great liposuction alternative to other methods.

Micro Liposuction

Micro liposuction is any type of liposuction procedure that treats small areas of the body such as the face, wrist, ankles or other small body parts. Any liposuction procedure that removes small localized pockets of fat with a smaller than standard cannula, it can be considered a form of micro liposuction. The smaller scale of the procedure is sometimes used to compliment larger procedures as a way of fine contouring or sculpting the treated area.

Due to the precision that VASER lipo offers, it is a popular technique for removing fat from delicate areas of the body such as the facial region. Facial liposuction is becoming an increasingly popular topic recently as new technologies allow for better precision and less risk of scarring which is important since the skin of the face is prone to scarring. The small incision required also reduces the risk of infection. Smaller procedures also mean faster recovery with less pain which is important in an era of fast moving lifestyles.

Liposuction Alternative

When people talk about liposuction alternatives some may assume the topic is about alternatives in terms of technique while they may actually be talking about nonsurgical liposuction alternatives. Either way there is a wide selection of treatments that can offer some of the same benefits of traditional liposuction thanks in large to the incredible advance in medical science and technology. Laser lipo is the use of a laser to generate enough heat to literally melt the fat while vaser liposuction is the use of ultrasonic sound waves to break up the fat cells. Non surgical procedures use some combination of chemical medication and enzymes that dissolve or otherwise destroy the fat in the injection area and are popular around the world as an alternative to liposuction surgery.

Laser Lipo

Much has been made of laser liposuction and this site began as a fascination with the impact laser technology has on the liposuction market. Nonetheless, check out our other pages for more details about laser lipo and the benefits it offers over traditional procedures. In short it offers lowered risks of infection and other complications due to the smaller surgical incision and faster recovery time. The heat from the laser offers the advantageous side effect of tightening the skin of the treated area. Depending on the specific technique used to remove the fat, the laser liposuction treatment is known as Smart Lipo or lipolysis when no suction is required.

Vaser Liposuction

The change from mechanical force to break up fat cells is not limited to the laser technique. Vaser liposuction is another way to remove fat in a gentler way than traditional liposuction by using ultrasonic sound waves to destroy the fat cell. VASER is an acronym for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. The resulting fat that is released is then suctioned out of the body through small tubes. The benefit that VASER lipo offers is the ability to break up fat while minimizing the damage to surrounding tissue and being able to do so before making an incision means less time is spent suctioning.

Non Surgical Liposuction

Without surgery the recovery time is generally reduced. That is only one of the benefits of nonsurgical liposuction. The primary benefit is that it allows people who did not want surgery to enjoy the same instant slimming effect of liposuction surgery. Any surgery is a risky endeavor and puts the patients at risk of any number of complications. The anesthesia required for the surgery adds to the risk and nonsurgical liposuction alternatives give the patient the freedom of more options. Removing surgical risks and the required recovery time associated with surgery is a big plus for those who live busy lives and can hardly afford any time off to rest.

Lipodissolve

This is an injection treatment that uses chemicals and enzymes that target the fat cells. The small area to be treated is injected and the chemicals dissolve the fat which gets picked up by the body’s lymphatic system and is removed from the body through urine. Lipodissolve is similar to mesotherapy but is comprised of a different chemical solution which allows the patient a shorter recovery time making it popular in the United States where, apparently, not a minute can be spared on resting. The popular treatment areas are around the facial region particularly the chin and neck. It is also an effective way to reduce cellulite.

Mesotherapy Treatment

Mesotherapy has been used for a long time and is particularly popular in South American and Europe to produce the effects of liposuction without the surgery. It also reduces cellulite in the treated area. The treatment is simply a tiny injection of a solution that dissolves fatty tissue in a nearly pain free way.

Thermage

If needles are not your game, there is another nonsurgical liposuction option known as Thermage. This is also a popular nonsurgical alternative to facelift procedures because the heat generated by the laser causes the collagen in the skin to tighten. At the same time the fat is literally melted by the effects of the laser. It is about the least invasion procedure possible.

So liposuction surgery is not the only way to instantly slim down. There are alternative liposuction techniques that use gentler methods such as laser lipo and VASER liposuction as well as nonsurgical liposuction options.
